Online Theory Test

Prepare with Confidence—Your Safety Starts Here - before your practical training day, you’ll complete some reading and practice theory test. This helps ensure everyone arrives with a solid foundation—and ready to succeed.

After you select the correct Course & Pay here.

  1. Read the MAST Tasmanian Safe Boating Handbook.
The Marine and Safety Tasmania (MAST) handbook covers everything you need to know to operate a boat or jetski safely and legally.
You can read it online or purchase a hardcopy at Service Tasmania.

  2. Complete the Theory practice test below. This includes your enrolment form.
The practice test helps us ensure everyone starts the course with the same foundation of knowledge. It also helps us identify where extra time needs to be spent in building foundational understandings. Finally, it also includes your enrolment information and Evidence of ID upload.
You can attempt the test more than once. You can also test your knowledge further with the optional MAST practice test.

  3. You are now ready to attend the Practical Skills Training & Assessment Day (on the date you booked)

  4. AquaCraft will confirm with MAST that you can be licensed. Take the confirmation email you receive to a Service Tasmania office to pay for your license.
